(Patria) - Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti today in Paris spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron, telling him that the Franco-German proposal "serves as a good basis" for further talks with Belgrade, thanking him for his commitment to accelerate the dialogue together with Germany.
Kosovo officials reiterated their commitment to dialogue, based, as they said, "on preserving Kosovo's sovereignty, territorial integrity and functionality."
Osmani and Kurti discussed recent developments in northern Kosovo, stressing that institutions in Kosovo remain committed to peace, stability and guaranteeing a safe environment for all citizens.
"In this regard, Osmani and Kurti mentioned Serbia's destabilising tendencies, through strengthening its illegal structures in Kosovo, intimidating Serbian citizens and inciting criminal groups to disrupt law and order in the north," the statement said.
Kosovo will continue to coordinate with international partners to address security challenges.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic also met with the French president, and rejected the idea of discussing the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities within the framework of the Franco-German plan for Kosovo.
