Lejla Tanović wins race in Croatia

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Ten-time BiH national champion Lejla Tanović won the UCI C2 race in Croatia and earned 30 new UCI points counting towards the world ranking list and the Olympic norm.

This was Lejla Tanović's ninth UCI race victory of her career, which is also a record number of wins at International Cycling Union races for BiH cyclists.

The race held in Metković served as our competitor's final test before the Balkan Championship, which is being held this year on July 7th in Serbia.

"The track in Metković was extremely physically and technically demanding with many climbs. At the Balkan Championship, we expect a very similar track with a long climb, so this race served as ideal preparation for the Balkan Championship," said Lejla Tanović.

Tanović is heading to the Balkan Championship to defend her three consecutive Balkan champion titles in the elite category. The race broadcast can be followed live on Sunday on the Arena Sport 2 channel starting at 12:30 PM.
