(Patria) - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti assessed that peace and security in Europe are challenged not only by Serbia but also by Russia, which, although they do not share borders, "have common goals, because they view states through ethnic lenses, because they do not believe in the values of democracy". He stated that Kosovo is ready to extend a hand to Serbia and establish good neighborly relations, but he "expressed doubt that Serbia can do the same", reports Koha.net.
He assessed that relations with Serbia, even after 11 years, are no better than a decade ago, and that for this "there is a reason".
"Serbia has failed in its democratization and seeks more conflict than cooperation, it continues to glorify war criminals instead of condemning and punishing them. I fear that Serbia is neither democratic nor independent. It is a regime led by the Orthodox Church and dominated by Putin's Russia", stated Kurti.
"What we do not offer are concessions to divide our country along ethnic lines, but if Serbia is not ready to recognize us, five European countries do not have to wait, they can help Serbia recognize us faster", said Kurti.
