Kurti calls for international punishment of Serbia: If this does not happen, the crime may be repeated

(Patria) - MPs of the Assembly of Kosovo began today's session with a minute of silence and paying tribute to the murdered police officer Afrim Bunjaku, who was killed by Serbian terrorists on Sunday morning in the north of Kosovo.

Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti called on the international factor to sanction Serbia after the armed attack in Banjska and Zvečan on Sunday. According to Kurti, if Serbia is not punished, it may repeat the crime.

In his address to the Assembly, Kurti said that the armed attackers who fled Banjska without being arrested should be handed over to Kosovo's law enforcement agencies.

"On Sunday, we experienced an aggressive attack by Serbia's criminal and terrorist gangs, not only on the police, but on the state, on the order of our Republic. It was a difficult day for our country. The police will miss a dedicated member. But his murder has turned into increased commitment to fight terrorist gangs and victory in the fight against them. The terrorists were either killed, arrested, or are being sought after fleeing. The armed attack violated territorial integrity, sovereignty, and national security. The attackers who fled must be extradited, handed over to our authorities. Allied countries should declare the 'Civil Defense' and 'North Brigade' organizations as terrorist, as the Government has done".

"For this act, Serbia should be internationally sanctioned. If it goes unpunished, it will repeat the crime. The military weapons that Serbian professionals who attacked in Banjska had all came from Serbia," added Kurti.

Kurti said that all seized weapons belong to Serbia and come from Serbia.

According to him, blaming Serbia is inevitable, even for those who do not want to see and hear.

"Serbia provided them with military equipment, conducted combat training. This did not start on Sunday, September 24. They also kidnapped three of our police officers in Leposavić. We had three weeks of barricades in December last year. Many were injured in the attacks in Zvečan. All this shows that we had a chronicle that warned of the murder of our hero Afrim Bunjaku," he said.

Kurti said that the war against crime in Serbia will triumph with Kosovo's victory.
