Kurti again accuses Serbia of escalating the situation in northern Kosovo

(Patria) - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti reiterated today that Serbian authorities are to blame for the escalation of the situation in northern Kosovo, stating that it was planned and had perpetrators.

In the Kosovo Assembly, Kurti emphasized that the situation in northern Kosovo escalated when "criminal groups" returned from a rally held in Belgrade on May 26.

- We have enough footage to prove that the escalation was planned, well-organized, and had perpetrators.

The perpetrator is official Belgrade, which ensured that the warnings of escalation, if the police did not withdraw and the mayors did not leave, turned into reality.

Increased concern due to the escalation led Serbia to mobilize criminal groups to actually escalate the situation - said Kurti.

He published the names of Serbs from northern Kosovo and directly accused them of the unrest. Among them, Kurti claims, were also fans of Crvena zvezda.

The protests, he stated, are organized by supporters of Slobodan Milošević, and he told MPs that the government cannot cope with violent attacks.

- Those who criticize us from Belgrade for having little legitimacy, they themselves lack legitimacy. Serbs from Srpska lista lack legitimacy.

The call for a boycott is a wrong decision, with bad intentions, for which they should bear the consequences, not us. In Kosovo, power can only be gained through elections, not through grenades, bullets, stun bombs, and attacks on KFOR, the police, and journalists. These are not protests for new elections, but protests of people who worship Milošević - said Kurti.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo asked, if municipal buildings are not for the mayor, then who are they for?

- We should not respect our country less than the international community does. The Kosovo Police are the most professional in the region.

I am a democrat against democrats, and a sovereignist against ethno-nationalist extremists. The situation in the north was not normal two weeks ago, nor was it normal 20 years ago - said Kurti.
