Criminal charges against BiH politicians who act in Croatia's interests in the Pelješac Bridge case

The Bosniak Movement, led by Sejfullah Tokić, called for the formation of a coalition of non-governmental organizations, prominent individuals from academic, cultural, religious, and political life of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will use all legal means to prevent the construction of the Pelješac Bridge, because, they state, this bridge would close Bosnia and Herzegovina's access to the open sea.

“The months-long deliberate political and media campaign by the HDZ regarding the construction of the Pelješac Bridge, for which the state of BiH has never given consent, has the ultimate goal of preventing our country from exercising its right to access the open sea, guaranteed by the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea,” the Bosniak Movement announced.

"The continuous actions of the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Dragan Čović, to try to prevent the state of BiH's right to access the open sea represent a gross violation of the Constitution of BiH and the oath by which he pledged to serve the interests of BiH. Given the enormous harmful consequences for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state caused by such actions of Dragan Čović and others who support him in these activities, the Bosniak Movement has initiated the formation of the broadest coalition to oppose such actions."

The main goal of this coalition is, as stated by the Bosniak Movement, to present all facts related to the right of access to the open sea to the domestic and world public, and to mobilize all structures of society in defense of the interests of the state and the people related to this issue. The coalition will, the statement further reads, simultaneously monitor the actions of all authorized representatives of the state of BiH and, in cases of unconstitutional activities or the preference of the interests of other states over BiH, file criminal charges with the competent authorities, Patria reports.
