Leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj is the new Kosovo Prime Minister, and his Government was elected in Parliament with 62 votes, one more than the necessary majority and without debate, announced Al Jazeera, reports NAP.
In protest that the vote proceeded without debate, MPs from the Democratic League of Kosovo, led by former Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, and the Self-Determination movement left the session, reports Tanjug.
Serbian List also entered the new Government.
Kosovo Serbs will have three ministries and six deputy ministers in the Kosovo Government, but the attitude towards Prime Minister Haradinaj, whom Serbia still accuses of war crimes, will not change, official Belgrade announced on Saturday, reports Hina.
In Haradinaj's Government, Serbian List will receive ministries for Return and Communities, for Agriculture and Rural Development, and for Local Self-Government.
Haradinaj first stated in Serbian that Albanians have always respected other peoples and that he will do the same as Prime Minister.
He also said that Kosovo faces a lot of work after the government's election and stated that Kosovo is threatened by global terrorism.
"Kosovo will be safe only when it becomes a member of NATO," said Haradinaj, adding that Kosovo will also be a member of the European Union.
The new Kosovo Prime Minister stated that friendship with the USA will be strengthened, and speaking about the situation in the region, he said that he "will talk to everyone.".
He promised to lead a dialogue with everyone, and that dialogue with Serbia has no alternative.
He announced that an internal dialogue will be opened to understand what worries the citizens.
He said that the future government consists of representatives of different parties, from multiple parties and minority communities.
"Thank you all," said Haradinaj, as reported by Pristina media.
The government, in addition to the prime minister, will have five deputy prime ministers and 21 ministries.
