SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina Staša Košarac believes that there is no readiness on the part of Croatia to discuss the issue of the nuclear waste disposal site at Trgovska Gora in a reasoned manner and to try to find the best solution.
After yesterday's joint session of the Government of Croatia and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Košarac stated that the very situation regarding the inclusion of the item on Trgovska Gora on the agenda of the joint session showed the mood in Croatia, and reminded that he did not want to attend the joint session unless a special item on Trgovska Gora was on the agenda.
"I believe it is important to speak everywhere about the positions coming from the entity of Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., that it is unacceptable to build a disposal site at that location," Košarac confirmed to Fena.
He emphasized that this is a very important issue because it concerns the protection of the health and lives of 250,000 people from RS and FBiH, and that they continue to seek engagement in terms of finding a third location. He reiterated that the Expert and Legal Team is not satisfied with the flow of information so far with the Croatian side.
"I want to remind that Slovenia supports our efforts, as does Hungary, and we will intensify this type of contacts in order to gain support from other EU member states," Košarac added.
