Komšić to Croatian authorities: Show one document where you offer to resolve open issues with BiH

(Patria) - The President of the Democratic Front (DF) and the party's candidate for the BiH Presidency in the October elections, Željko Komšić, said that the Croatian authorities are pursuing a two-level policy towards Bosnia and Herzegovina - one for the public, which, as he pointed out, is "rhetorically polished and supposedly well-intentioned towards us, while the real, practical policy of Zagreb is devastating for BiH and all its citizens."

"Let HDZ show just one official document, to the domestic public or Brussels, in which they propose resolving at least one open dispute with Bosnia and Herzegovina, starting with the return of pre-war BiH property located in Croatia to the resolution of the border issue with BiH. Unfortunately, such a document does not exist," Komšić told the Patria agency.

"I have said it before, and I will repeat it again, what HDZ Croatia is doing towards BiH is a continuation of the UZP policy started in the nineties. So, the goal is the same, only the assault on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina is being conducted by other means. In the meantime, HDZ BiH, led by Dragan Čović, is pursuing a treacherous policy towards its own country and its own people, which in all other countries, including Croatia itself, would be most severely sanctioned," Komšić added.

The DF president emphasizes that he hopes that the citizens, as he said, will "recognize such a treacherous policy of domestic officials and send them to the dustbin of history where they belong, once and for all." 

Komšić called on all pro-Bosnian parties to, in the spirit of democratic values, together "resist the attacks on Bosnia and Herzegovina, because only then can we defeat the evil that has loomed over our country."

"And we are neither incapable nor cowardly for a new democratic struggle," Komšić said. 

Komšić's sharp reactions followed after Croatia began building the Pelješac Bridge without first resolving the border issue with BiH, but also after Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović referred to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a special case.
