Komšić: Serbia is arming Dodik's separatist regime and violating the Dayton Agreement

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The leader of the Democratic Front, Željko Komšić, today assessed the supposed improvement of cooperation between Republika Srpska and Serbia in the field of the defense industry as dangerous. Komšić believes that this amounts to the arming of Milorad Dodik's separatist regime by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia.

- It is unacceptable for the ministry of a neighboring country that has committed to respecting the Dayton Peace Agreement to arm Dodik's separatist regime, while investing 14 million KM. The Republika Srpska entity does not have its own army, so the question arises whether the Army of Serbia will again operate in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We know very well how these operations manifested themselves in the past, with genocide and ethnic cleansing - said Komšić.

Komšić added that the decision to destroy 8,300 tons of ammunition and 40,000 rifles owned by the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina is worrying, while Serbia is arming Dodik's militaristically inclined regime, and emphasizes that Serbia cannot sign such an Agreement with an entity at all.

- That type of Agreement can only be signed with state institutions, with the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Council of Ministers, and the State Parliament, because that is how it is defined by the law governing the conclusion of international agreements and treaties. A unilateral attempt to sign the Agreement is scandalous. Therefore, I call on the Presidency of BiH for a prompt reaction and for the protection of the state's interests - concluded Komšić.
