Komšić responds to Croatian President: Islam in BiH is not becoming aggressive, it is not by nature

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović said that the biggest threat to her country is the instability of BiH. DF President Željko Komšić said that Grabar-Kitarović is partially right when it comes to foreign influences. 

- Of course, Croatia feels danger due to its shape. I mean increased Russian influence, and even the migrant crisis – Komšić said as a guest on TV1's daily news program.

- There is a danger that an influence coming from the east will spread to some parts of BiH. I do not agree with the assessment that Islam in BiH is becoming aggressive, because it is not by nature. The fact that there are people who have turned to aggressiveness, there are such people everywhere. This is a job for intelligence agencies, and for the Islamic Community of BiH, to cut off and remove from the people what is foreign to Muslims in BiH. Islam in BiH has been traditional for centuries. When you look at the policy of the leadership of the Islamic Community in BiH, you will not find approval of such extremist views. Muslims in BiH are their own people, it is a type of indigenous Islam, which is foreign in the predominantly Islamic world.

In the big geopolitical stories, the biggest danger for us comes from the disruptions that may occur after Trump's victory in the US, or rather, how much space he will leave for Russia to penetrate the Balkans. We should ask ourselves about that, how much it threatens the Euro-Atlantic path of BiH. Things are not simple and naive, and everything that happened in Montenegro before the elections is not a harmless story.

One should not even underestimate the danger to Vučić's regime in Belgrade, because Vučić has chosen to move towards the EU. Even Dodik, with some moves, bypasses Vučić and goes into direct communication with Moscow – said Komšić, reports Patria.
