Komšić: Open issues with Serbia are subject to political games and blackmail

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Chairman of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić also commented on the situation at yesterday's session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, from which a point regarding the completion of works at the Bratunac – Ljubovija border crossing was withdrawn. Three million KM more are needed for these works, and the point was withdrawn because the Budget of Institutions was not adopted.

Komšić is of the opinion that these funds could be allocated from the budget reserve, and that this is a project that is important for the upcoming meeting in Belgrade.

“We said that in the meantime we will try to see what all the open issues with Serbia are and what we can correct. Here, the Bratunac-Ljubovija bridge is meaningless to leave unfinished. It has nothing to do with politics, it has to do with the people who live there and who cross that bridge. But obviously, both that bridge and some other issues of a vital nature are the subject of political games, perhaps even some political blackmail,” said Komšić.

He stated that the point was withdrawn from the agenda by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Saša Dalipagić.

Komšić also commented on the meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and representatives of political parties from Republika Srpska in Belgrade on Saturday.

“I hope that Mr. Vučić, and I would say I expect it from him, will be wiser than some of our politicians when it comes to that meeting,” Komšić concluded.
