Kolinda Grabar Kitarović: Croatia wants a stable BiH and does not advocate for a third entity

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović spoke about BiH on November 19 at the Halifax International Security Forum in a way that sounds like she unequivocally stated that she does not advocate for a third entity, writes Večernji list.

"Sometimes, unfortunately, in the West, they look at me with some kind of hesitation or even suspicion that I want a third entity for Croats. No, we want a stable BiH," said Grabar-Kitarović, which was recorded on a video recording of the panel discussion, which also included NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Ivana Klympush-Tsintsadze, and US Senator Jeanne Shaheen.

A statement phrased this way, in which the Croatian president sounds like she is justifying herself against "suspicion," also reflects a general impression gained from conversations with various diplomats from the "West," i.e., from countries allied with Croatia in NATO and the EU: these diplomats regularly respond to the mention of a Croatian entity in BiH by stating that their countries do not support it and consider it something that, in their opinion, is counterproductive to even discuss, reports Večernji list.
