With the "Trojka", hope truly dies last: When you think it can't get any worse, Konaković appears to prove it can!

Escalation in Bosnia and Herzegovina continues indefinitely. This would be a summary of today's events, after media reported that today's meeting, where the "Trojka" parties and Milorad Dodik were supposed to discuss de-escalation, has been cancelled.

And when hope arose that the "Trojka" parties had finally set boundaries, red lines, and realized there was no reason to talk to Dodik about anything while his secessionist pretensions grew and he took concrete steps in that direction, it was shattered by Elmedin Konaković's statement.

The president of People and Justice, Elmedin Konaković, stated that the "Trojka" parties are still working on a plan for de-escalating the crisis, which they need to agree on with other partners at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is clear that there is more important work today, because the "Trojka" parties are not the ones who cancelled the absurd meeting.

"There was no spectacular cancellation of the meeting," Konaković would say, dashing hopes that they have any firm stance or sense.

He assessed the working atmosphere with partners at the BiH level as tense and lacking the trust that existed before.

It is unclear when trust existed, and can the Minister of Foreign Affairs concretely explain whether "trust" only occurred during the distribution of positions, where the "Trojka" parties once again had to swallow many frogs?

I don't know what other trust occurred or what chemistry, if we know that after more than six months since the establishment of the BiH Council of Ministers, we are not an inch closer to the EU, nor has any of the laws from the 14 priorities been adopted!?

"We are waiting to see if there is a willingness to hold another telephone or extraordinary session tomorrow where we could adopt some of these laws. It's difficult to do in one day, but we can partially fulfill our obligations from the 14 priorities," Konaković concluded.

It cannot be done in a day, a month, or a year with Dodik, who is playing games with the entire domestic and international political scene. It cannot be done while the "Trojka" leaders invent trust between partners!

Dodik has put them to the test and is waiting for the appointment of the BiH Minister of Finance and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers.

Dodik sees de-escalation in this, while the "Trojka" tells fairy tales and "phones" for the adoption of necessary laws!

Perhaps the "Trojka" sees progress in Dodik's latest statement, in which he said that "RS has no secessionist activities, but it has the determination to defend its autonomy from all those who are destroying the Dayton Peace Agreement, whether they are from Bosnia and Herzegovina or abroad."

However, the devil is in the next sentence:

"If our autonomy is challenged in any way, we will turn it into something more," Dodik told Srna.

All false trust, compromises (which were at the expense of the "Trojka" and Bosnia and Herzegovina) have been reduced to one name and one position, just as it was during the establishment of the Council of Ministers when frogs were swallowed for Nenad Nešić and Marinko Čavara, but back then, the "Trojka" leaders also sat in those chairs, making them easier to swallow.

Today, they are no longer swallowing frogs, and the show for the public and some de-escalation is just a semblance that the public is supposed to "swallow," while the "Trojka" appears to be state-building, which they might be if they had an answer for Dodik.

But, with the sentence that "there was no spectacular cancellation of the meeting," they proved that in their case, hope truly dies last.
