Club of Delegates of the Croat People Condemns Media Reporting from the Parliament of FBiH

The Club of Delegates of the Croat People in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a press release in which they strongly condemn, as they state, the constant media criminalization of Croatian officials in general, primarily the Speaker of this House, Lidija Bradara, and the members of her office.

The press release states that the delegates of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament are elected officials with a double legitimacy and as such are primarily accountable to the peoples and citizens who elected them. The delegates state that "given the complex political situation, they consider the months-long media hunt against this House, primarily Croatian delegates but also all others, to be extremely inappropriate and irresponsible.".

"Certain media outlets have, in the past few months, repeatedly presented inaccurate, unverified, and especially unproven claims that are extremely discriminatory towards the aforementioned persons, clearly with the aim of ultimately damaging their integrity.

The use of information, or rather allegations from 'unnamed sources' coming from the FBiH Parliament, or more specifically the House of Peoples, is particularly concerning. It is extremely inappropriate, and even impermissible, to disclose any personal data related to delegates without their permission, or even knowledge, and especially to intentionally release certain official acts to the public.

In this regard, concerning the latest in a series of attacks that occurred a few days ago, we responsibly claim that no delegate from the Croat People's Club receives a double per diem. Furthermore, in order to preempt all future attacks, which we have no doubt will occur as the campaign for some has clearly begun, we responsibly claim that no member of this Club is abusing any of their rights, which are guaranteed by law, it was announced from the Club of Delegates of the Croat People in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports Patria.

Journalists from the Klix portal previously published an article stating that some delegates are receiving double compensation in the FBiH Parliament and cantonal assemblies.

CIN had previously revealed that five out of eight advisors to Lidija Bradara, Speaker of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, do not meet the legal requirements for appointment to these positions. More than 306,000 marks were spent on them from the federal budget over two and a half years.

"Moreover, one of them had their first employment, while the others had work experience ranging from eight months to two years. Most of her advisors are members of political parties or relatives and acquaintances of politicians," CIN reported.
