Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić is visiting Banja Luka today with ministers from the Serbian Government, where he addressed those present on the occasion of the unconstitutional January 9th, RS Day, and we are transmitting the speech in its entirety:
- We came to Banja Luka together with numerous ministers from the Serbian Government with the intention of showing respect and providing support to Republika Srpska and its citizens.
We are proud of the support we provide to Republika Srpska. No one has been able, nor will anyone be able to, forbid us the right to love our people. Politicians will never again be able to erect barriers, quarrel, and distance each other.
Citizens of Republika Srpska, you are not alone, Serbia is always here. As prescribed by Dayton, Serbia's obligation is to protect Srpska, and no one will be able to abolish Republika Srpska through any political decrees. Republika Srpska was created by the people, not by political decrees.
Our obligation is to preserve and be a guarantor of the territorial integrity of BiH, which we are doing and will continue to do. I have said this countless times in Belgrade and Sarajevo. We are fated to be connected to each other, we have lived together for centuries and we will live together for centuries to come.
We all lost in all the wars. Almost no one likes these words, neither in Belgrade, nor Banja Luka, nor Sarajevo. Enough of others' and our own Serbian graves, we want factories and to work more. We must respect our neighbors and share good and bad with them. Let's not count.
I came to talk about what is the priority task, and that is the future. The world is changing at a speed that can hardly be followed. Our and your future will not depend on how great we are, but on how fast and diligent we are. Fast in progress and catching up with everyone in the world, not in emotions.
At the end of last year, the testing of the first quantum computer was announced in the world, in two years supersonic trains will be tested, in Amsterdam they are preparing a bridge that will be printed on a 3D printer, etc. Although all this is happening in our global village, the question is what should we in Serbia, Republika Srpska, and Bosnia and Herzegovina be concerned with.
Should we conquer new hatreds or new products beneficial to all of us. Should we go down a path to nowhere or build a society according to the highest world standards.
We need important answers, responsible and lasting answers. We survive or we disappear. Our heads are important, to keep them on our shoulders and to use them.
We are lagging behind in the number of highly educated people compared to European countries. That is us, and we need to change that, improve it, and fight for it. We do not need emotions in these regions, we need peace, cooperation, learning.
We need Andrići, Teslas, Selimovići, and Pupini. We will not allow Republika Srpska to be alone, nor anyone in the Balkans. Our cooperation implies building bridges towards BiH, so that everyone lives, works, learns normally, and that we all survive and endure together.
If any people in the Balkans disappear, those who remain will not be better off. We need Republika Srpska, BiH, Serbia, Croatia, cooperation, peace, and coexistence.
The existence of all these entities and states provides the basic condition for the future, a future in which we will exist and in which we will not be alone. This is the future you fought for and for which you paid dearly in Banja Luka and the entire Republika Srpska.
Long live Republika Srpska, long live Serbia," Vučić said.
