Jovanović after meeting with Hahn: It is impossible to ensure a European Serbia if Bosnia is left behind

BELGRADE, (Patria) - LDP President Čedomir Jovanović stated to reporters after a meeting with European Union Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn in Belgrade today that the topic of the meeting was the EU Strategy towards the Western Balkan countries, or rather the conditions Serbia faces in order to become a modern European country.

“As far as the LDP is concerned, we believe it is necessary to reach an agreement with Kosovo as soon as possible, stabilize Bosnia, accelerate economic reforms in the country, and put an end to these instant crises that are completely destroying society in our region. The responsibility for this lies largely with the authorities, and partly with us in the opposition,” said Jovanović. He added that the issue of the region is also very important to him, “because we do not believe it is possible to ensure the country's European future if Bosnia is left behind us in its current state.”

“We need to understand what the priority is at this moment. It is the stabilization of the region through the resolution of Kosovo, a different approach in Bosnia, and only then proceed with European integration,” said Jovanović, as reported by the Patria News Agency.
