Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Staše Košarac, regarding the information on the abolition of Kosovo's taxes on goods from BiH, says he has been informed of Kosovo's decision to abolish taxes on goods from BiH and Serbia, but I still have no official notification about it, nor the position of the CEFTA Secretariat.
"I think we should be very cautious given the possibility of introducing reciprocity measures and a limited validity period of the decision to abolish taxes by the provisional institutions of Kosovo. It would be desirable that there be no conditions in that process.
I want to emphasize that the abolition of unilaterally introduced taxes would have a positive effect on foreign trade exchange, and I hope that businessmen from BiH will be adapted to continue business cooperation with companies in Kosovo.
It is quite clear that Pristina, by introducing taxes, grossly violated the CEFTA agreement. Therefore, during BiH's one-year presidency of CEFTA, we will insist on additional protocol 7 for resolving disputes between CEFTA parties," said Košarac.
