One in Five Million in Several Serbian Cities, Mass Protest in Belgrade on April 13

SERBIA, (Patria) - The "One in Five Million" protests were held tonight in several Serbian cities, and singer Vlado Georgiev addressed the crowd in Niš, stating tonight that the revolution starts from this city. 

"Don't give up and don't be afraid, they are just pathetic wretches who have disguised themselves as a common gang. There should be more and more of us at the protests because this is a serious matter," Georgiev emphasized.

He said that prices in Serbia are rising every day, "today bread and fuel, tomorrow something else," and that we all think those who lead the country are "playing" and belittling citizens every day.

"This is a farce of a country where various ministers and people they directly protect are exempt from the law, while the rest of us, if we don't pay a parking ticket, will end up with bailiffs," Georgiev said.

Miljan Marjanović, a representative of the Youth Movement "For Niš Without Fear," said that people protesting across Serbia are only demanding the departure of the regime and free elections at all levels.

"We demand the immediate resignation of Aleksandar Vučić, Ana Brnabić, and Maja Gojković, and elections after the media have been free for six to nine months. The deadline for fulfilling our demand is 30 days, and if they do not comply, we will organize a large people's protest in Belgrade on April 13," Marjanović stated.

Dejan Milošević, an organizer of the protest in Kuršumlija, told the people of Niš that everyone should go to Belgrade on April 13 if Aleksandar Vučić does not resign by then.

From the rallies held in Novi Sad, Užice, and Niš, it was stated that citizens must be united against the current regime because only then can they win.

Participants in the protest in Niš once again signed the "Agreement with the People" tonight, and after the rally on King Milan Square, a protest march was organized to the City Heating Plant, as one of the demands is to review the price of central heating.
