Clear message from Petrov: Croatia does not support the creation of a third entity in BiH

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić received a delegation of the Croatian Parliament today, led by Parliament Speaker Božo Petrov, the Council of Ministers announced, writes Patria.

At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman Zvizdić congratulated Speaker Petrov on his election as Speaker of Parliament and wished him success in his work. Chairman Zvizdić informed Speaker Petrov about the current economic and political situation in BiH and thanked him for the transfer of knowledge and experience in the field of European integration.

He said that the European and Euro-Atlantic agenda of Bosnia and Herzegovina represents an important link in bilateral relations with the Republic of Croatia as a member of the European Union and NATO, and emphasized that these facts point to even more substantial and intensive cooperation, not only on a bilateral but also on a regional and broader global level.

Petrov said that Croatia respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH, as well as the equal rights of the three constituent peoples, and that it does not support the creation of an additional entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that Croatia fully supports BiH on its path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration and expressed hope that it will very soon join the European family. He praised the economic progress of BiH and said that it is important to continue cooperation in all segments.

Zvizdić and Petrov agreed that Bosnia and Herzegovina is the key to stability in Southeast Europe. They also discussed improving cooperation on infrastructure and energy projects, further strengthening economic, trade, scientific, and cultural cooperation, as well as a joint session of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Council of Ministers of BiH.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee Miro Kovač, Head of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group in the Croatian Parliament Zlatko Hasanbegović, Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee Joško Klisović, and Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to BiH Ivan Del Vechio.
