Severe storm hit Serbia, worst in Pančevo - fist-sized hail

A severe storm accompanied by hail hit Belgrade, but it seems that the hail caused the most damage in Pančevo, where hailstones the size of fists fell, reports B92.

In addition, a video of a waterspout that formed in Pančevo was posted on social networks, reports Patria.

Car windows were smashed, and plastic greenhouses in yards were destroyed.

People posted photos of the damage caused by the hail and photos of themselves holding real ice lumps on social networks.

From "Beogradski taksi" they told B92 that Autokomanda is "standardly under water", and that the water on the highway near the turn for Dušanovac is "almost half a meter deep".

In addition, a weather alarm has been declared in the north of the country and in Belgrade; orange is in effect for Srem and Bačka, while red weather alarm has been declared in Banat. In the next 24 hours, sudden rises in water levels are possible in the Belgrade area.

AMSS warned drivers to stop their vehicles in the first available parking lot or a safe place by the road in case of heavy rain or storms accompanied by hail.
