Izetbegović tells Milanović: I didn't write the statement, but I endorse every word of the Mothers of Srebrenica

(Patria) - President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović continues to insult Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosniaks day after day. In a new media escapade, he directed his malice and inappropriate language towards the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, claiming that their statement was written by Bakir Izetbegović. The statement from the Association "Mothers of Srebrenica," in which they reacted to Milanović's denial of the genocide, was not written by me, nor by anyone from the SDA, but I would endorse every word of that statement, said SDA President Bakir Izetbegović in today's reaction.

"Zoran Milanović, with his public appearances and behavior inexplicable to common sense, has long crossed all 'red lines.' And that would be just a personal problem of a frustrated media bully, if it weren't for the fact that he is the President of the Republic of Croatia, a member state of the European Union and NATO. His daily insults cannot bring anything good to anyone, but they can further worsen relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, as well as between the Bosniak and Croatian peoples.

The insults that Zoran Milanović directed at the mothers from Srebrenica, as well as the belittling and attempts to dehumanize Bosniaks, place him side by side with genocide deniers and advocates of criminal, expansionist state projects. With his views and the insults he utters daily, Milanović will not change the truth established by the verdicts of international courts regarding genocide, ethnic cleansing, concentration camps, and joint criminal enterprises. What he will achieve is that history will remember that the President of the Republic of Croatia denied the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica and insulted the families of the victims.

We want to believe that in Croatian politics and society in general, there is still enough democratic capacity and common sense to, if they cannot stop him, at least publicly and clearly distance themselves from Milanović's harmful views. For our sake in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but primarily for their own sake," Izetbegović stated.
