Elections in four municipalities in northern Kosovo, Serbian parties boycott the elections

(Patria) - In northern Kosovska Mitrovica, all five polling stations opened on time.

In these centers, 18,118 voters can exercise their right to vote.

The current situation is calm and everything is going according to plan, with a small number of citizens, especially in areas inhabited by Albanians, coming out in the morning hours to fulfill their voting duty.

A particularity of these extraordinary elections is that they are being held for the first time without the participation of Serbian political parties, with the exception of an independent candidate, and out of a total of 19 centers, 6 are regular and 13 are alternative, reports Koha Ditore.

In the four northern municipalities, there are a total of 19 polling centers with 34 polling stations, and 45,095 people have the right to vote.

The extraordinary elections were organized after Serbs submitted collective resignations from Kosovo institutions in November last year.

From the EU, they emphasized that they will recognize the election results regardless of the fact that Serbs are not participating.

At the beginning of May, a new round of talks between Serbia and Kosovo will be held again.
