Refugee attempted to set herself on fire at the Greek-Macedonian border

A middle-aged refugee woman attempted to set herself on fire in the area of the Idomeni border crossing, between Greece and Macedonia, Macedonian media report, according to the Patria News Agency.

Citing the Greek agency ANA-MPA, media outlets state that other refugees noticed the woman in time and managed to prevent her from taking her own life.

According to witnesses, the refugee woman was in a severe psychological state and in a nervous crisis. She was accommodated in a tent of the organization "Doctors Without Borders", where she immediately received first aid. The number of migrants at the Macedonian border in Idomeni has increased, and almost 10,000 of them are now waiting to enter Macedonia from Greece.
