For political reasons, Montenegro plays against Serbia in green jerseys

(Patria) - Montenegro's handball players play the second round match of the European Championship against Serbia at 18:15, and today's jerseys have a special, political motive.  The Montenegrins played in green jerseys representing the memory of the Komiti movement from 1918, which opposed the decision of the Podgorica Assembly for Montenegro to join Serbia.

The Komiti movement, led by General Krsto Popović, was also called the Greens, so it was decided that the Montenegrins would play in green jerseys.

Let us recall, both teams were defeated in the first round. Montenegro played bravely against Croatia, but lacked the strength to achieve a positive result, while Serbia experienced the same scenario against Belarus.

The match is of great importance for both teams, and the one that is defeated will bid farewell to the European Championship.
