Ivanov: I expect Macedonia to join NATO this year

SKOPJE, (Patria) - Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov said that he expects this year to be successful for the Macedonian army and for Macedonia to become a member of NATO, TV2 reports.

As the head of state and supreme commander of the armed forces, Ivanov visited members of the Macedonian army at the "Cede Filipovski-Dame" barracks in Kichevo on the first day of the New Year, congratulating them on the New Year.

Ivanov wished the Macedonian soldiers health, happiness, joy, and the fulfillment of all their expectations.

"We expect this year to be successful for the army as well, meaning the Macedonian army to get what it deserves and finally for us to become a member of NATO," Ivanov said.
