Ivanić after meeting with Vučić: It is unrealistic to expect a border solution in the next four months

BELGRADE, (Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade today. Ivanić said that today's meeting was an exchange of views, and that Vučić informed him about the situation with Kosovo.

He stated that state border issues were not discussed.

- We did not discuss it because it is unrealistic to expect an agreement in these four months before the elections. I think it is a huge pity, it would be a huge plus for both Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, it would be such a nice example in the region, everything has been reduced to one or two things that are not so difficult. BiH is important to Serbia, not only politically but also economically, there are many reasons to improve these relations - Ivanić believes.

Speaking about the announced construction of the Sarajevo - Belgrade expressway, Ivanić emphasized that they are waiting for Turkey to present the financial framework.

- I am convinced that by autumn we will have a clear stance from their side on how the financial structure should look. The job needs to be well prepared - the member of the BiH Presidency stated.

Speaking about the amendments to the Election Law in BiH, Ivanić believes that what was not agreed upon politically should not be transferred to the Central Election Commission.

 

- I think that is very wrong and just shifting responsibility. The key to the agreement is the agreement of the partners in the Federation. No one can help if these people do not help themselves - he added.

Ivanić said that he did not discuss the migrant crisis with Vučić, although the largest number of migrants enter BiH from Serbia and Montenegro.
