Investigation into the break-in of the court depot in Podgorica: Did some of the suspects flee to BiH?

(Patria) - Due to the fact that they hid the equipment before the break-in was discovered, investigators believe that the thieves took what they came for from the court premises and/or contaminated material evidence.

Some of the suspects for breaking into the court depot from Montenegro fled on September 11, by bus on the Podgorica - Sarajevo route, via the Šćepan Polje border crossing, and others crossed the border at Dobrakovo, writes Montenegrin Vijesti, citing multiple sources.

This was determined by the prosecution and the police in the investigation of the theft of evidence from the depot of the High Court in Podgorica, which was discovered on the morning of September 11.

Vijesti's sources did not explain which of the four suspected Serbian citizens exited at which crossing.

They left the country a few hours after leaving the van used for "breaking through" the tunnel to the High Court in Botun.

Due to the fact that they hid the equipment before the break-in was discovered, investigators believe that the thieves took what they came for from the court premises and/or contaminated material evidence.



However, they are checking whether anyone from the High Court in Podgorica helped them select the case files, Vijesti was unofficially told.

According to the prosecution, the only person arrested so far in this investigation, Predrag Mirotić (31) from Podgorica, helped them hide the van and the tools used to dig the 30-meter-long tunnel through which they stole evidence.

The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica and the police determined that on September 11, around three o'clock after midnight, he guided the van with his car to the place where it was hidden, and then drove one of the suspects back to Zabjelo.

The quartet from Loznica - Veljko Marković (32), his uncle Milan Marković (53), Dejan Jovanović (30), and Vladimir Erić (32), fled Podgorica that day.
