(Patria) - High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko told DW that domestic solutions are responsible before the Bonn Powers, and that after resolving the issue of Macedonia's name and the dispute between Serbia and Kosovo, BiH will be next.
When asked whether this is a commitment to return to the Bonn Powers or a trend of returning to them, Inzko said it is "both."
"It is also a bit of the International Community's frustration that things are moving so slowly and that there are so few domestic solutions. Some are therefore thinking that perhaps one should return to the Bonn Powers, but as a last resort. The first option must always be a domestic solution, and only when it fails should the Bonn Powers be applied. I think some things have gone too far. For example, the elections in Mostar or the status of Serbs in Mostar who officially do not exist there. The Sejdić-Finci case has also been ongoing for ten years. That is simply too long. Even if we are not right, people are leaving BiH because they no longer have time to wait."
Answering the question "What do the Americans say," and whether the US supports him being stricter, the High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko replied: "The Americans have 400 conflicts on their agenda around the world, from Venezuela to North Korea. As far as the Balkans are concerned, I felt that there was an order to finish the job. To finish the job in Macedonia. Then to finish the job between Serbia and Kosovo. Then BiH would be next."
How long can this take?
"I want it to be as short as possible, but I can't say more," said Inzko, reports Patria.
