INTERPOL issues arrest warrant for Milan Radoičić

(Patria) - The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) has issued an arrest warrant for Milan Radoičić due to the events in Banjska, confirmed to RSE the minister in the Government of Kosovo Nenad Rašić.

According to him, the warrant was issued based on the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, through the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo, as that country is not a member of INTERPOL.

Radoičić took responsibility for the attack in Banjska on September 24, when police officer Afrim Bunjaku was killed. After that, three more Serbian attackers who were part of the armed group were killed in an exchange of fire with the Kosovo police.

After taking responsibility, Radoičić resigned from his position as vice-president of the Srpska Lista, the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo supported by Belgrade.

Through his lawyer, he stated that he had "personally" organized the attack and all logistical preparations, and that he had not informed anyone about such plans.

However, Kosovo authorities claim that the state of Serbia is also behind the attack in Banjska, which official Belgrade has denied.

Radoičić was detained by Serbian police on October 3 in Belgrade on charges of: conspiracy to commit criminal offenses, illegal production, possession, carrying, and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials, and serious offenses against general safety.

Nevertheless, he was released the following day with the measure of not leaving Serbia, and he was banned from traveling to Kosovo.
