BiH Property in Croatia: The Longest European Battle for Ruins

The story of the seizure of BiH property in Croatia through the recently adopted Law on the Management of State Property looks more like a poor construction. The disputed issues fall under Annex G of the Agreement on Succession Issues, and additionally, court proceedings are underway for the vast property of BiH in Croatia. It has already been said in Strasbourg: The longest court proceedings in Europe.  

The application of Annex G of the Succession Agreement is an unconditional legal framework for resolving many property-related claims.

In Croatian media, you cannot find a single word about this problem. It would be interesting to know who, in this form, woke up the public in BiH with a media slap.  

Negotiations between the state delegations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia on concluding the Agreement on Property-Legal Relations began in 1997. After the Agreement on Succession Issues between the successor states of the former SFRY entered into force, negotiations continued from 2004 to 2009. The result: The Agreement was not concluded, but almost all property that Croatia and Serbia had in BiH was returned to them.   

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, it has been shown once again what kind of people are leading our state. Who are these leaders of ours who, for a quarter of a century, have not returned property that is the pure ownership of this state? By the way, is there any politically more important Bosniak name that has not comfortably positioned itself on the Adriatic coast with its post-war property? 

Since the war, no one who is not a Croat has ever been in the position of Minister of Finance or Minister of Justice. Not by chance, at all levels. Twenty-three years later, we have not resolved the issue of enormous state property that is decaying and turning into ruins. One official from this field, who helplessly deals with these tasks, explained:

- Every four to five years, something like this cleverly planted fake about the seizure of BiH property in Croatia happens, and then noise and fury follow from this side. After that, everything calms down, and the ruins that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina paid for and built with great difficulty continue to sink and decay into Croatian soil.  

Most of our ministers, parliamentarians, and ambassadors, during their mandates, give one interview, two or three statements, and move on in their wealthy careers. For twenty-three years, almost nothing of the property worth billions has been returned to this state. Is there anyone who, regarding this tragic fact of inaction, would raise noise and fury, without Croatian conducting batons.     

Bosnia and Herzegovina has been a victim of the brutal politics of the HDZ for decades. The Republic of Croatia was convicted for aggression against BiH. For the destruction of dozens of cities and the killing of the population, for ethnic cleansing, concentration camps, rapes, for starving the population. Exactly six months later, the verdict is no longer mentioned. (Behind the scenes, Croatia in the UN does not stop seeking the annulment of this verdict, lobbying everywhere. For example, as the British proposed that the Russians before the UN Security Council would reject the alleged enforceability of the International Court of Justice verdict against Serbia). Thanks to HDZ policies, today we have ruins of the property of BiH citizens both here and in Croatia. For any justice and compensation, it is impossible to bypass the ministries of justice and finance, which at all levels are held by HDZ cadres. First of all, thanks to Bosniak cadres from the SDA, who, when they win power, lose their minds, and then grab the worst levers in the state as soon as possible.   

For twenty-three years of peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, elections have been talked about as a political business, with party hacks, incompetent loafers who will squeeze in where they do not belong. Professional people, who are too few and fewer, will, as usual, have no say and will be positioned at the lower part of the hierarchical chain of power.

Here we are where we are: Never before have such pathological amounts of the suitable been above the capable and professional.
