Fierce reactions to the arrest of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not subsiding, but behind the whole story are not just the ten members of the HVO from Orašje, reports Patria.
Namely, the BiH Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation into a crime committed in 1995 in the vicinity of Mrkonjić Grad, when the 4th and 7th Guards Brigades of the Croatian Army advanced to liberate that part of BiH after Operation Storm.
According to the investigation, 180 Serb civilians were killed in that operation in retaliation for the death of commander Andrija Matijaš-Pauk, and their bodies were found in a mass grave.
According to RTL, the then commander of the 4th Guards Brigade, and current Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister, Damir Krstičević, is also under investigation.
Should an indictment against Krstičević indeed be filed in BiH, it would be a huge political and symbolic blow to the entire Croatian state leadership.
