CROATIAN-AMERICAN DIPLOMATIC STORM OVER BiH: Schmidt, Following Tuđman's Goals, Destroyed Dayton!

By: Rasim Belko

The Diplomatic Storm on Bosnia and Herzegovina is not losing intensity nor can its end be foreseen. Ostensibly, it began with a coordinated action by official Zagreb and the HDZ of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the story of electoral law reform about ten years ago. But in fact, it began when the father of the Croatian nation, Franjo Tuđman, was drawing a wish map in Karađorđevo of which part to annex to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After the bloodshed resulting from the Milošević-Tuđman agreement, the Dayton Peace Agreement emerged, which stopped the armed aggression against BiH, but it never lost its diplomatic and political strength. Not from any aggressor side.

However, the Croatian one became more sophisticated and polished. Strategically designed, strengthened by large amounts of lobbying money, the aggressive diplomacy of Croatia towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, after years of effort, saw its first results last year. And those first results actually broke the character and both the letter and spirit of the Dayton Agreement. Dayton was broken by Christian Schmidt, the German at the head of the OHR, the guardian of Dayton. Because the OHR is actually the only one that could break Dayton.

And he broke it with the approval of the Americans, whose envoys like Matthew Palmer and especially Gabriel Escobar, the special envoy, were regular guests and hosts to the implementers of aggressive Croatian diplomacy. In Bosnia, even during that time of fraternization between polished Zagreb diplomats and politicians and the robust Escobar, one could sense what fate was being crafted for them in Dayton.

Escobar absolutely supported the Croatian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister whenever they said that Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not equal and have equal rights. Regardless of the fact that behind this was an agenda for about 15 percent of Croats in BiH to be more equal than others, de facto to control others, Escobar directly, and the State Department consequently, supported such a policy. And they knew that behind the story of equality for Croats stood an apartheid in which Croats should control 51 percent of Bosniaks and 51 percent of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After Schmidt's breaking of Dayton was done, polished Zagreb politics boasted of their influence on the German to do it. Even the not-at-all polished President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, joined them in this.

But the plan was not implemented. Because Zagreb is still far from realizing Tuđman's map. That is why they continue with the same diplomatic mantra that BiH Croats are still an endangered species. And they still need equality.

Thus, from yesterday's meeting between Croatian Foreign Minister Goran Grlić Radman and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, a message was sent that Croatia is key for the integration of the Western Balkans.

And then in the next sentence it says: “The US administration is still actively present in BiH and is constructively advocating for the functional stability of BiH, and BiH is only sustainable if the Dayton Peace Agreement is respected.” This means without Dayton there is no Bosnia and Herzegovina. Grlić Radman and Blinken are thus sending an identical message to the one Dodik, Vučić and the like send us - either you will be obedient and preserve Dayton, which kills everything Bosnian in Bosnia, or you will cease to exist. And even if you preserve Dayton, you will still cease to exist, because the longer Dayton lasts, the shorter Bosnia will last.

And Zagreb is completely clear here, the goal from Karađorđevo has not been achieved, and Croatia is led by the party that led it when that goal was set. The electoral law is the penultimate phase before achievement. The last is the dismantling of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina through its occupation in every possible way. A country without territory, effectively governed by vassals of Belgrade and Zagreb, cannot survive, except as a shell divided into Serbian and Croatian worlds.

Dayton must therefore go, and the OHR along with it. Because, as I said, the longer they last, the shelf life of Bosnia and Herzegovina rapidly decreases.

As for the US administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina, since Biden came to the White House, it has lost touch with American and civilizational values and agreed to be a tool for the final partition of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because what envoys like Escobar and Ambassador Michael Murphy do in Sarajevo almost completely coincides with what Petar Ivancov, Vitaly Churkin at the United Nations and the like once did. Only, like Zagreb, much more polished, with a smile and a hypocritical message that the US advocates for the Euro-Atlantic future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

And that future is almost catastrophic, because with such a policy of the US administration, Bosnia will not be in either European or Atlantic integrations. There is no doubt that the administration's behavior is not a product of ignorance or lack of plans. On the contrary, the danger to Bosnia and Herzegovina lies precisely in the existence of these plans, because judging by the behavior of Grlić Radman, Plenković, Vučić and the like, the implementation of the plan to integrate Bosnia and Herzegovina, but into the Croatian and Serbian worlds, began long ago.

And knowing the Americans, their plans are only changed by aggressive changes in geopolitical and local political currents. Like currently in the East, where China has woven together the diplomacies of Iran, Saudi Arabia and some other states. The key American ally Israel showed serious signs of nervousness shortly after that weaving, and today the CIA chief traveled to Riyadh to convince the Arabs that Israel is a greater friend to them than Iran.

Imagine if the BiH Foreign Minister got it into his head and went to Beijing and there agreed on a diplomatic offensive to help Bosnia and Herzegovina. It would be a diplomatic tsunami that would certainly force Washington to reconsider where it is leading both Bosnia and the Western Balkans.

If the Foreign Minister won't do it, then those who present themselves as the political force defending Bosnia MUST do it.

Current American diplomacy has definitely become a serious problem for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and only powers of similar strength possess the counter-injection. In defending this country, no means should be spared, because those who are destroying it do not spare any!

Perhaps it is sad that the US administration has started marching to Tuđman's narratives, but we have no time to mourn their friendship that is costing us our heads!
