Croatian lawyers visited Serbian Prime Minister Vučić

Representatives of the association of lawyers "Vukovar 1991" from Croatia met with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, who, as they stated after the meeting, promised to do everything to prosecute persons suspected of crimes in, as they say, war camps in Serbia, reports Tanjug, NAP conveys.

- The Serbian Prime Minister promised to undertake everything to uncover the perpetrators and to activate the Serbian judiciary in this regard, said Zoran Šangut, a representative of the association, for Croatian Radio Television.

According to him, they were told that in September, all former prisoners and their family members would be allowed to come to Stajićevo to lay wreaths and light candles.

- The monument will be discussed further, and German diplomacy will also oversee everything, says Šangut.

Šangut added that this is the first time that someone in Serbia has received representatives of an association from Croatia for talks on this topic, and at the highest level.

According to him, this happened based on an initiative from the Bundestag, especially from MP Josip Juratović, but also due to the meeting between Prime Minister Vučić and Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

Juratović, who attended the meeting with Vučić with the representatives of the association "Vukovar 1991", stated that he was satisfied with the conversation.

- I have a feeling that we will succeed in resolving the open issues, i.e., the problems that lie before us. They must finally be resolved for the good, above all, of Croatia and Serbia, and ultimately, for the processes that are underway in this region regarding the establishment of trust, Juratović emphasized.
