Croatian Minister Crnoja Resigns Due to Public Pressure, While Half of BiH Government is Under Investigation

After Croatian Index revealed that the new Minister of Veterans has a reported false residence address, Minister Mijo Crnoja resigned, reported Croatian media, according to the Patria News Agency.

- The past two days have been spent discussing this, and I have given all documents to legal experts who concluded that there is no guilt. I have resigned because I do not want to cause harm to the Government and the Prime Minister – Crnoja stated.

Crnoja faced a series of scandals in his first week in office. As revealed by Index, Crnoja has been registered for years in Samobor at an address where there is nothing but a shack, while he has been living in Podsused the entire time.

Croatian media also reported that Crnoja had been in Remetinec for assault, meaning he knocked out a bus driver who delivered a package to him.

Croatian Index also wrote that Crnoja received a strictly earmarked housing loan of 56 thousand euros from the Ministry of Family, Veterans and Intergenerational Solidarity in 2009, for the construction of a house in Gradna, even though a year earlier he had a decision on inheriting an apartment in Podsused where he still lives today, and that Zagreb apartment is now owned by him, writes Patria.
