A Croatia Airlines plane caused real panic among Sarajevo citizens today, after making several circles over Ilidža before landing, which planes landing at Sarajevo International Airport do not normally make, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
The Operations Center of Sarajevo International Airport explained that the unusual situation, which occurred today at 3 PM in the sky over Sarajevo, was caused by bad weather that had gathered over Kiseljak, over which the Croatia Airlines plane was flying, preventing a standard landing. However, they claim, nothing was particularly dangerous.
- It was a bit unusual. The plane was making eights over Ilidža. It flew over a part of the city where planes don't normally fly. That confused the citizens. It was an unusual occurrence even for us – they confirmed to Patria from the airport.
The Croatian plane eventually landed safely, remaining in the air for about ten minutes longer than it should have, writes Patria.
