Croatian Party demands from Palmer and Sattler strengthening of state institutions and formation of new ones

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - For Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of how it is or will be organized, to be able to lead accession negotiations for EU entry, it needs stable state institutions that will be capable of taking on international obligations and implementing all necessary reforms, stated the Croatian Party in a press release. 

"Almost a year has passed since the elections in BiH, and the government has still not been formed, a year has been wasted on declarations and mutual accusations, all so that nationalists could strengthen their positions and slow down the unstoppable, upcoming changes," they add from the HS BiH. 

As they say, the institutions of the state of BiH, which have been prevented by individuals and groups from fulfilling their obligations and have shown failures in their work so far, should be far more effective "if we want to catch up and convince the European Commission, not verbally but with concrete moves, that we are serious in our intentions to one day become an EU member, not for the EU but for the citizens we represent."

"We hereby call on the US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer, and the EU Special Representative in BiH, Johann Sattler, to in the coming period, in cooperation with BiH parties, begin talks and negotiations on strengthening state institutions and forming new ones that are missing, in order to ensure all prerequisites for the future government to be capable and independent with all necessary powers for BiH's EU membership negotiations. Through negotiations and talks, it is necessary to identify and remove all those who are not ready for the opening of Chapters 23 and 24, which we believe will resolve a large number of previously unresolved issues and problems," it was stated in the release.

The way out of the crisis, according to the HS, for all of us living in these areas, lies in the rule of law, the fight against crime and corruption, and solving the economic problems of all citizens with the aim of stopping emigration; the EU is certainly a signpost in which direction we should move.

"If it is not so, let us see what alternatives are available! Politicians in comfortable armchairs and cars can wait, but do citizens have that much patience?", the statement reads.
