Croatian Party: Stopping the youth exodus from BiH is more important than the Election Law

BiH, (Patria) - The Croatian Party rejects the claims of the leaders of HDZ BiH and the Croatian National Assembly that changes to the Election Law are currently the key national issue for Croats in BiH, reports Patria agency.

The party reminds that even under the current election rules, the Croatian member of the BiH Presidency and 13 delegates from the two HDZ parties to the Federal House of Peoples, as well as all five delegates to the State House of Peoples, were elected with considerable ease.

It is not disputed, according to HS BiH, that certain disputed provisions of the Election Law must be changed, but these corrections, they add, "are not fateful for Croats in themselves, as the leaders of HDZ BiH are trying to impose and present to Croats and the entire public in BiH and Croatia these days."

HS BiH points out that there are more important life issues, such as the departure of thousands of young people from BiH, which has led to the depopulation of many Croatian villages and towns. HS BiH blames the leadership of HDZ BiH, i.e., the leadership of the Croatian National Assembly, for this situation.

"The Croatian Party of BiH believes that the leaders of HDZ BiH have capitulated to the people due to numerous lies and unfulfilled promises, but they cannot admit it, so they consciously misuse the election law and paranoically create a climate of the so-called Croatian Self-Government syndrome, whose main protagonist was precisely the leader of HDZ BiH, when they Goebbels-style drove Croats mad with slogans like the suicidal one: 'self-determination or extermination'," they stated from the Croatian Party of BiH.

The Croatian Party once again called on the leadership of HDZ BiH, as well as other political actors in BiH, to "stop manipulating and driving the public crazy, and to sit down at the negotiating table and show the will and skill for compromise that would calm tensions and enable a decent election campaign and the implementation of election results."
