(Patria) - The first group of evacuated Croatian citizens from the Gaza Strip has arrived in Croatia.
They say they went through hell in Gaza.
"It's terrible. Everything is bombed - hospitals, schools. There were many attacks, but never like this. This is genocide," said Mrs. Vedrana, adding that they are in good health, but their mental health has suffered, HRT reports.
Let us remind you, on Thursday, all Croatian citizens who wanted to leave the Gaza Strip were evacuated. Although 23 Croatian citizens initially registered, one woman changed her mind and decided to stay, it was confirmed then from official sources.
The return process for 22 out of 23 Croatian citizens who wanted to leave the Gaza Strip has begun, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in a statement to the media in Bjelovar.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman said the day before that there was information that one Croatian citizen had died in that Palestinian enclave, but that it had not been confirmed.
Plenković said that there is still no reliable information and that these reports are being checked.
The Prime Minister thanked the embassies in Israel, Egypt, and Qatar for this operation, as well as the Emir of Qatar, who was very constructive in this process.
