HNS Reacts to Tearing of EU Flag from Croatian Embassy in Sarajevo

The torn flag holders on the building of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Sarajevo, where the European Union flag was destroyed, is not the path Bosnia and Herzegovina wants to take in the future.

The Croatian National Assembly condemns the attack and demands an urgent response from police and judicial institutions to identify the perpetrator and hold them accountable.

We advocate for a European Bosnia and Herzegovina, we live and fight to set it on its path toward the European Union; unfortunately, such attempts to destroy all democratic standards set us back several steps.

Inappropriate messages and treatment of a neighboring country that is the biggest advocate for the stability and development of BiH, as well as the biggest proponent and partner of a European and Euro-Atlantic BiH, must never be the target of such or similar attacks.

The Republic of Croatia has proven to be a true friend and great support during our efforts to build a European Bosnia and Herzegovina and to protect the position and rights of the Croatian people in seeking full equality and legitimate representation.

We hope that such and similar incidents will not hinder the future friendly efforts of the Republic of Croatia toward Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We are confident that the good neighborly and partnership relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia will continue to develop to the mutual satisfaction and benefit of all our peoples.
