Thousands of people on the streets in Serbia, protests in Belgrade on Saturday

"Danas" writes that at the beginning of the protest in Novi Sad, a minute of silence was observed in honor of the first rector of the University of Novi Sad, Olga Hadžić, director Dušan Makavejev, and a worker who died at the construction site of the so-called Pupin Palace in the city center.

"Life is a choice, not a destiny. An ordinary person lives as they must, and a free person lives as they should. A miserable acceptance of life without resistance is stagnation, and a chosen life is freedom. A free person becomes so by decision, resistance, or non-compliance," said actor Milorad Kapor in front of several thousand citizens who gathered at the Theatre Square, despite the falling snow and very cold weather.

He called on soldiers, police officers, workers, students, and citizens to oppose the authorities and to, in the future, if those elected in fair elections do not act as citizens demand, take to the streets and demand their dismissal.

N1 reminds that tonight, in several cities in Serbia, the eighth protest "One in Five Million" was held, which will continue in Belgrade tomorrow.

Thousands of Serbian citizens have been protesting against the government of Aleksandar Vučić for two months.

At the central square in Niš, the former police inspector Nebojša Blagojević addressed the attendees, stating that he was illegally retired after 27 years of work on complex cases.

"I was retired after leading a case in which 17 people were arrested. I later found out that among the arrested were a person who is a godson of Aleksandar Vučić and a person who owns a media house that is said to be the unofficial mouthpiece of the Serbian Progressive Party," Blagojević stated.

The protest rally and march "One in Five Million" was held tonight in the pedestrian zone in the center of Vranje, and participants demanded that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić behave as the president of all citizens, not just his party, and that fair conditions for elections be provided.

Vranje journalist and actor Saša Stojković told the gathered citizens that Serbia is threatened by the people at its head, who are turning it into a party state.
