The president of the Serbian Radical Party and Hague indictee Vojislav Šešelj announced that the party will go to the upcoming elections alone, as they never form pre-election coalitions, reports the Patria News Agency.
He added that after the elections, they will not form coalitions with pro-Western parties, but that the SRS could support Aleksandar Vučić's government if he renounces the EU.
"What we have been continuously offering for a year and two months is an offer to Vučić to renounce the EU, to turn towards Russia, and in that case, we could support his government without any prejudice," Šešelj said in an interview for Sputnik radio.
Šešelj believes that the Progressives are still the strongest party and will likely be the strongest in the upcoming elections as well, but he does not believe in public opinion polls according to which SNS can have 51 to 52 percent support for so long.
The leader of the radicals also claims that his party is on the rise and has "over 20 percent support in the electorate," as published on the Sputnik website.
Šešelj said that the radicals will run in the elections with the slogan "Serbia into safe hands" and that through the campaign, they will want to promote closer integration with Russia.
He also says that their campaign, given that the party is materially the poorest, will not be expensive, but it will be very intense and they will go door to door.
