Hasečić and Husić in Ljubljana on the 20th Anniversary of the Srebrenica Genocide

Associations "Averroes" and  "Pogreb ni tabu" from Ljubljana are marking the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide with a special memorial program, which will officially be commemorated in Srebrenica on July 11th this year, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

On this occasion, BiH associations "Medica" from Zenica and "Žena - žrtva rata" (Woman - Victim of War) from Sarajevo, which provide assistance to abused women in BiH, presented themselves to the Slovenian public.

On behalf of the association "Medica", the President of the Association, Sabiha Husić, spoke in Slovenia. In 2014, she received the "Woman of the World" award, presented by the international organization "Women for Women International" from New York.

On behalf of the Association "Žena – žrtva rata", the President of the Association, Bakira Hasečić, spoke.

It was stated in Ljubljana that during the aggression against BiH, all citizens were victims of the military system and suffered terrible consequences regardless of gender and age.

Men were directly exposed to danger simply by going to the front lines. Women experienced great trauma, violence, and torture throughout the war story, as well as systematic and organized sexual violence.

The commemoration of the Srebrenica victims in Ljubljana was supported by the Islamic Community of Slovenia, reports NAP.
