(Patria) - A working meeting was held at the Ministry of Civil Affairs between Minister Gudeljević and representatives of the World Health Organization, Dr. Victor Olsavszky.
The topic of the meeting was the organization of a virtual conference of health ministers in BiH with the participation of Ingrid McDonald, UN Coordinator, Steliana Nedera, UNDP Representative, and Dr. Victor Olsavszky, WHO Representative in BiH.
The goal of the conference will be to finalize a unified list of medical equipment needs according to the World Health Organization, especially considering that it is very difficult to obtain adequate supplies in a time of general need for medical equipment related to rapid detection and treatment, as well as the procurement of protective equipment.
Dr. Olsavszky particularly praised the efforts of the Ministry, which submits daily reports to the World Health Organization on the epidemiological situation in BiH. Another very important aspect of the meeting concerned the finalization of preparations for the training of border police officers, coordinated by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH with the support of the World Health Organization. The training aims at the health protection of border police officers.
Finally, the most important message of this meeting relates to the constant and continuous increase in the number of tested individuals. Testing is halfway to overcoming the problem of the spread of the Coronavirus infection. This message is shared and is a direct result of the exchange of information on the number of infected and sick people in BiH, as well as the increased number of Coronavirus sources in BiH.
