Grenell awarded in Kosovo, then arrives in Belgrade

BELGRADE, (Patria) - A delegation of the US government, led by the Executive Director of the International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Adam Boehler and Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Richard Grenell arrived in Belgrade, after a visit to Pristina, and were welcomed at the airport by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and US Ambassador Anthony Godfrey.

The American delegation will be received by President Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic on Tuesday.

Before that meeting, a meeting of the US delegation with delegations of the business communities of Serbia and Kosovo will be held at the residence of the US Ambassador in Belgrade, Anthony Godfrey.

Representatives of the American corporation are also scheduled to have meetings with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The opening of the regional office of the International Development Finance Corporation, new American investments in the region - should be the topics of discussion between Serbian and American officials.

It was announced on Monday evening from the US Embassy that the new office of the American International Development Finance Corporation DFC in Belgrade is ready.

Boehler previously announced that the delegation would prepare for the opening of the DFC office in Belgrade, as stipulated by the agreement on the normalization of economic relations between Kosovo and Serbia signed on September 4 in Washington.

Earlier today, the American delegation signed an agreement in Pristina. Boehler and Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti signed a joint statement confirming the DFC's intention to help foster investments between the US and Kosovo.

"The new Investment Incentive Agreement between Kosovo and the US is expected to provide access to the full range of investment support from the US International Development Finance Corporation, as well as establish commitments regarding the Corporation's support for projects in Kosovo and Kosovo's work on them," the statement signed within the framework of the US delegation's visit to Pristina reads.

On Monday evening, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci awarded the Special Representative of the US President for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Richard Grenell, a medal for services. Thaci awarded Grenell for his outstanding contribution to the dialogue and the achievement of the agreement in Washington on September 4.
