Serbian citizens entering the country after 6 PM today will be under special health supervision

(Patria) - All Serbian citizens entering the country after 6 PM today will be under special health supervision and will receive a health warning at the border upon entering the country, informing them of all obligations they are required to fulfill.

First, upon returning to the country, citizens should complete a self-assessment test for COVID-19, which is available at e-zdravlje.gov.rs/landing/, the Government of Serbia announced, as reported by Nedeljnik.

As stated, filling out this questionnaire will help them gain a better insight into their general health status, and the test result will indicate whether it is necessary to report to a COVID clinic.

"A citizen completing the test should print or save the result to have proof of the completed test, which means that citizens should not automatically visit COVID clinics upon returning from abroad, but only those who receive such instructions from the completed self-assessment test," the statement reads.

This, it is added, avoids unnecessary crowds in clinics and eliminates the risk of uninfected citizens potentially contracting the virus while waiting in line for examination.

The period of special health supervision lasts for 10 days, so on the 10th day after returning from abroad, citizens who did not receive instructions to go to a COVID clinic during the first test should complete the COVID-19 self-assessment test again.

The statement emphasizes that if the results at that time show no risk of infection, the special health supervision will cease to be valid for them.

Those who are unable to complete the online questionnaire should call the Institute or Public Health Center in their city or municipality by phone and will receive all necessary instructions.

It is warned that any failure to comply with the instructions from the health warning constitutes a gross violation of epidemiological measures and a conscious endangerment of one's own health, as well as the health of the entire population.

Risky and irresponsible behavior such as this can relatively quickly lead to a renewed and even faster spread of the coronavirus among the population, which is in no one's interest, and the Government of the Republic of Serbia calls on all citizens to strictly follow the instructions from the health warning.

Adherence to preventive measures remains the only safe and proven way to protect against coronavirus.

As a reminder, wearing masks in enclosed spaces, maintaining distance, as well as regular hand hygiene and disinfection of spaces are of crucial importance for all of us and the only way to preserve our health.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia once again appeals to all citizens to respect all epidemiological measures, without exception.
