Citizens on the streets of Belgrade: Taped the entrance doors of Politika and RTS

BELGRADE, (Patria) - The protest against the current government, titled "One in Five Million" began on the Plateau in front of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, and at the beginning of the rally, professor from the Faculty of Political Sciences Čedomir Čupić and former Supreme Court judge Zoran Ivošević addressed the crowd.

"Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić must resign for Serbia to become a legal state again," Ivošević stated tonight, as reported by the newspaper Danas.

Professor Čupić said that citizens and opposition parties must stand together to deliver the main demand of these protests, which is the resignation of Aleksandar Vučić.

N1 reminds that the protest of dissatisfied citizens is being held for the eighth consecutive Saturday in the center of Belgrade.

After the speeches on the Plateau in front of the Faculty, the gathered crowd began a protest march titled "On the path of the demands of One in Five Million" through the central city streets: Makedonska, Svetogorska, Takovska, and Kneza Miloša Street to the Government of Serbia building in Nemanjina Street.

Protest participants stopped in front of the Politika newspaper building where they taped the entrance doors and wrote "Censored".

Representatives of the Movement of United Fantoms arrived at the doors and then symbolically sprayed them with "pest control agents", as written on the bottles they carry on their backs.

Beta reports that protest participants also covered the entrance doors of the Radio Television of Serbia building in Takovska Street with tape bearing the logo of that media house, but on a pink background.

 

After already taping the doors of Serbian daily Politika, anti-govt demonstrators have done the same at the offices of public broadcaster RTS.

From the loudspeakers, the call was again broadcast to RTS General Director Dragan Bujošević and Editor-in-Chief Nenad Lj. Stefanović to resign, because they have "turned the public service into a party organ for their master Aleksandar Vučić".

B92 reminds that the first protest against violence, titled "Stop the Bloody Shirts", was held in Kruševac on November 30, 2018, due to an attack on one of the leaders of the Alliance for Serbia, Borko Stefanović, and two other activists in that city. Since December 8, protests have been organized every Saturday in Belgrade.
