(Patria) - Organized by the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action, Kosovo citizens marched through the central squares of Pristina in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The citizens, mostly young people, chanted slogans: "Justice for Palestine", "Stop the genocide in Gaza", "Down with occupation", and others.
After gathering at Zahir Pajaziti Square, they marched to Skenderbeg Square, where they intended to approach the Kosovo Government building, but the police did not allow them.
Then, one of the march participants, Agim Ramadani, read out a prepared text stating that today's march was an expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Ramadani assessed that the current war should not be viewed as a war between equal sides, but as "a war of a colonial and occupying state against the liberation resistance of a people".
"Today we are witnessing the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people, which comes as a continuation of 75 years of Israeli occupation of Palestine, mass killings, and the forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their land. This occupation has turned Gaza into a concentration camp, a mass grave for thousands of men and women. This is the greatest tragedy of the 21st century. We are here because we cannot remain silent when an entire people is denied existence," said Ramadani.
He assessed that solidarity with the Palestinians does not mean support for Hamas, nor is it antisemitism.
He stated that one cannot turn a blind eye to the behavior of the Kosovo authorities, who, Ramadani noted, 24 years after the war in Kosovo, align themselves with Israel. He demanded the withdrawal of support for the Israeli government, a ceasefire, the opening of humanitarian corridors, the restoration of electricity and water to Gaza, and its liberation.
This is the second march in support of Palestinians organized by the Collective for Feminist Thought and Action.
