General Divjak: Ivanić, if you love Belgrade more than Sarajevo, leave!

Retired General of the Army of RBiH Jovan Divjak was not present on April 15th at the ceremonies marking the Army Day he helped create, writes the Patria News Agency.

In a CD on FACE TV, General Divjak spoke about this, as well as about the statements of the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Mladen Ivanić, and about successful people in this country.

-I am not the only one who was not invited. There are about 15 people here in Sarajevo who organized the defense on April 8, 1992, and confirmed that army on the 15th, and they were not invited anywhere.

It is not just Divjak's issue, but also of others whose contributions are not valued. I thought, couldn't someone from the Ministry of Defense invite these 15 people for a coffee, to talk, to ask what they think.

I regret that the first Chief of Staff of the TO, Efendić, is nowhere to be seen. Today, when you see honors being paid to people who gave their lives for Sarajevo, you see people attending these ceremonies who have no connection to those first days of defense. Do not tie this story only to Divjak, but to the people who deserve recognition but are nowhere to be found, said Divjak.

Speaking about Ivanić, the general emphasized that it is offensive when the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH says there will be no entry into NATO for BiH if Serbia does not join first.   

-And now what should we talk about, the past or who is to blame. I blame the BiH Parliament, which is unable to pass a resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica.

Today is worse than yesterday, and today is better than it will be tomorrow. Divisions are greater now than before.  

I had confidence in Ivanić. He made a big mistake for me two years ago when he said he loved Belgrade more than Sarajevo. Then go there, you are irritating these people who live here, Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks, and all others.   

But, there are also beautiful things, there are many young people who are successful. Don't we have the one who leads AS company from Jelaha, a young successful man. We even entered the Guinness Book of Records with begova čorba. There are positive stories in this country, said Divjak.
