Erdogan in the Presidency: Most of the discussion was about the construction of the Sarajevo - Belgrade road

(Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and members of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović met with the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Members of the BiH Presidency welcomed the President of Turkey and expressed their satisfaction with his arrival at the Summit of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP).

Members of the BiH Presidency emphasized that this visit of the President of Turkey is important for both countries in terms of progress in cooperation in all fields, and strengthening bilateral relations.

They stressed that the fact that BiH has the most signed state agreements with Turkey also contributes to good bilateral relations, with no open issues.

The President of the Republic of Turkey congratulated BiH on its presidency of the SEECP and reminded that Turkey strongly supports the Southeast European Cooperation Process. According to him, SEECP is a useful mechanism for preserving stability and peace in the region. He stated that the Republic of Turkey supports BiH's Euro-Atlantic path, and that the integration of BiH into the EU and NATO will be a guarantee of stability and peace. He emphasized that Turkey will continue to provide support for preserving the stability, peace, and prosperity of BiH. The President of Turkey expressed readiness to, as he said, revive the trilateral mechanism, i.e., to hold a BiH - Croatia - Serbia meeting.

The meeting discussed the improvement of cooperation between the two countries, primarily in the fields of economy, agriculture, transport, and infrastructure. Most attention during the meeting was paid to the Belgrade - Sarajevo highway and the significance that its construction will have for BiH, as well as for all countries in the region, and even for Turkey. There was also talk about meat imports and concrete steps that will be realized in that segment.
